Legal action has been initiated against a person accused of threatening a ward secretary over the phone by misusing the name of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Dailekh.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, action was taken against Prakash Khadka after an audio recording surfaced in which he allegedly used abusive language and threatened Kamal Bhandari, Ward Secretary of Dullu Municipality–13.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Office spokesperson and Joint Secretary Hemraj Aryal said that using the Prime Minister’s Office name to threaten and pressure civil servants is condemnable and unacceptable. He added that concerned security and investigative agencies have been directed to immediately proceed with legal action.

The statement also mentioned that the Prime Minister remains committed to good governance, the rule of law, and the professional security and morale of civil servants. It warned that anyone engaging in activities against the law would face strict legal action.

Similarly, the office urged the public and government agencies not to fall for any attempts by individuals using the names of the Prime Minister, the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, or the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers to issue threats, bargain, or create undue pressure through phone calls, messages, or meetings.

The office further requested local governments, government bodies, and civil servants to verify suspicious calls or messages through official channels before taking any action, stating that the government remains committed to protecting administrative dignity and institutional credibility.
