Surkhet. The 15th General Convention of the Nepali Congress is scheduled to be held from April 28 to 31. In the Central Working Committee meeting held in Sanepa on Friday, Acting President Purna Bahadur Khadka proposed a new date for the regular general convention. Earlier, the Central Committee meeting held on November 15 had decided to hold the general convention from December 26 to 28. However, after the general convention schedule as per the decision could not be implemented, the party has again set a new date for the regular general convention.

Earlier, General Secretaries Gagan Thapa and Bishwaprakash Sharma had issued a joint statement on Thursday, saying that the scheduled General Convention agenda would be approved by the upcoming Central Committee and postponed the General Convention. However, the establishment side has been expressing strong dissatisfaction, saying that the General Secretaries cannot unilaterally reverse the decision passed by the Central Committee.
